Human Resources Representative II (Generalist)

A Day In the Life
Let me just start by saying…everyday is different and that is the beauty of Human Resources. You never know what you are going to get!
I am responsible for the full recruiting process, from posting positions to making offers, new hire orientation, medical leave, worker’s compensation, training, employee discipline/investigations, updating policies, employee events and engagement.
As an HR professional I play a vital role in making decisions that affect a large number of employees. Throughout the interview and new hire orientation process I am the one who sets the tone for the experience. I have a significant impact on how individuals internally and externally view the company. I must ensure I am always organized and professional.
To be a successful HR person you need to understand employment laws at the state, federal and local level. You also need to understand what makes organizations, teams and individuals successful, each one is different. I spend a large portion of my time educating myself on the dynamics of the company as a whole, as well as each team and its members. Putting in the right amount of time will ensure you are credible and trusted among your client group.
